Hahnenkamm race week in Kitzbühel with an insider – as close to the action as you can get on skis.
Hahnenkamm race week is my speciality. I used to be part of the race-course crew (“Rutschkommando”) myself – at training runs and races, right behind the racers on the Streif. I know the course, the schedule and the best spots to experience the race.
With me you ski the parallel Streif, which stays open to skiers right next to the race course even on race days. From there you get breathtaking views of the race and feel the racers’ speed up close. Along the way I tell stories from race life that you won’t hear anywhere else.
After the race we head back up through the finish area – onto slopes that are almost empty, because everyone is celebrating in the finish area. The perfect end to a special ski day.
